Childhood Separation Anxiety

A Conversation with Natasha Daniels

Happy New Year, friend!

Two years ago, I decided to create a series of on-demand videos about childhood anxiety.

I knew it would be hard, but I didn’t realize how hard.

Like all true labors of love, it took more time and money than I had and required technical and technological skills I lacked, and a learning curve so steep I often wept.

For the last two months, I’ve been trying and failing, watching hundreds of online tutorials, emailing random technical support wizards  I found on YouTube (I’m looking at you, Eran Bucai), and breaking down.

But guys, I DID IT.

And I am deeply proud of the results.

I made this course to help those with anxious children in their lives who need some outside reframing.

No kids? No problem! These videos are helpful to anyone with anxiety.

If you're in need but struggling financially, EMAIL ME, and let's figure something out together.

CHILDHOOD SEPARATION ANXIETY

When my memoir, Little Panic, came out, I spent over two years on a book tour and did many podcasts.

I have several I love, and this one with the child psychologist Natasha Daniels (whom I’ve mentioned before) is one of them.

I share it now because it’s an excellent preview of things I discuss in the digital workshop The Little Panic Approach to Supporting Your Anxious Child, but also because it’s a natural leadup to a piece I’m working on now that is, perhaps, the most personal How to Live piece I’ve ever written.

I hope today’s video resonates with you.

*I use an analogy in this conversation about a swimming pool that I learned from the legend Dr. Tamar Chansky.

Did you have anxiety as a child? Did this podcast resonate with you? If so, please share in the comments!

Until next week, I remain…

(Nope, I'm not a therapist or medical professional, or even a journalist! I'm just a human being who writes about my lifetime struggle of learning how to live.)
